Tarakeshwar Rao has built his journey in hospitality through discipline, consistency, and a deep commitment to service excellence. As a hotelier, Food & Beverage Service Trainer, and the founder of Service Nexus, he now focuses on mentoring aspiring hospitality professionals and preparing them for the practical realities of the industry.

Born in West Bengal, Tarakeshwar entered the hospitality sector after completing his Hotel Management degree in 2002. His early years reflected the demanding nature of the industry, where growth often depends as much on persistence as on skill. In 2004, he moved to Mumbai and balanced restaurant work in Juhu while attending evening bartending classes in Colaba.

This phase of his journey highlighted his determination to continuously improve his craft. His dedication and consistency later earned him recognition as “Student of the Month” by Opportunities Today magazine.

Building a Career from the Ground Up

Tarakeshwar began his professional journey as a trainee waiter at Daspalla Hotel in Visakhapatnam. From these early operational roles, he gradually built a career shaped by hands-on experience and service-focused leadership.

Over the years, he worked across multiple levels within the hospitality sector, gaining a practical understanding of guest experience, team management, and service standards. His professional growth eventually led him to serve for nearly a decade as the General Manager at The Class Hospitality.

A Career Rooted in Service Excellence

Throughout his journey, Tarakeshwar remained closely connected to the core principles of hospitality — consistency, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. His commitment to service standards also received recognition from Professor Cyrus M. Gonda in the book Seal the Hole in the Bucket.

This acknowledgment reflected not only his operational expertise but also his contribution toward maintaining high standards within the hospitality industry.

Transitioning into Hospitality Mentorship

In 2021, Tarakeshwar moved to Hyderabad with a renewed focus on hospitality education and mentorship. Through Service Nexus, he now works to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world hospitality operations.

His training approach emphasizes practical industry exposure, communication skills, service etiquette, and operational discipline. The goal is to prepare students and hospitality professionals for long-term success in an increasingly competitive industry.

Expanding Knowledge Through Writing and Training

Alongside training initiatives, Tarakeshwar has also contributed to hospitality education through writing. He authored the e-book Service with Smile, which focuses on service culture and customer experience in hospitality environments.

He is currently working on a bilingual Food & Beverage guide designed for beginners entering the hospitality sector. The project reflects his broader mission of making hospitality learning more accessible and practical for new professionals.

Through Service Nexus and his mentorship efforts, Tarakeshwar Rao continues to contribute to the hospitality industry by focusing on skill development, service excellence, and professional growth for the next generation of hospitality talent.
